Create a communication strategy to obtain and share information about community services and resources. The strategy is to ensure that there are processes in place to maintain current contact details of community services and resources and how it will assist families to locate and contact and/or access community services and resources as required. A communication method is to be presented that shows how the information is made available to families. This could be in a form of a power point that runs in the reception area of the centre on a loop or a poster or a flyer or any other suitable method.

    Project 1

    • Research Report

      The childhood education and care service you work for places a great deal of emphasis on the application of theoretical concepts that promote and provide for the holistic development and wellbeing of children. They are also proud of the fact that they make children feel like they belong because of the level of quality standards they have in place.

      The service provider has asked you to develop a multi-page manual or booklet that details how such theoretical concepts can be effectively applied to nurturing the development of children in a variety of contexts and across varying age groups in a care centre as the benchmark for quality standards in the centre.

      Each summary of holistic development and wellbeing of children principle and/or technique will also need to show how childhood education and care service providers are affected by and meet the requirements of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS) and the concepts of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

      For each approach/concept develop a learning activity that can be demonstrated for your workplace supervisor. Use a mix of individual and group interactions as appropriate to the technique being applied. Be prepared to answer questions in relation to your chosen methods and why you think they will work.

      The research will cover these areas:

      • physical
      • social
      • emotional
      • cognitive
      • communication

      For each area:

      • explain the current theories of development include a variety of sources and reference your work
      • identify what parents can expect to see as their children develop in each area (eg normal milestones/ stages of development)
      • outline what the organisation does to foster development in each area in children (be specific, you will need to provide examples of activities and strategies used such as:
      • discuss holistic development—what it is and how it is achieved
      • explain how the organisation helps children feel like they belong

      Based on your research choose three (3) areas of development to use for your Project 2 demonstration tasks. Develop a mix of individual and group learning activities. Make sure your demonstrated tasks reflect the theory and concepts as explained in your research and be prepared to discuss these with your supervisor.
