Part 2. Power Flow Calculations. From the data given above, create the 5 by 5 admittance matrix. Using the information from lectures 8, 9 and 10. Solve for the voltage in PU on bus 2. You will have to review the lecture on per unit on March 10 (last class before break). Just do two iterations and set the other bus voltages to 1.0 PU for both iterations. Run the power flow program and obtain the bus 2 voltage. How close were you to the calculations that you performed in part I. Your output of this case will be the calculations and the Powenvorid simulation, showing the bus voltage.
Part 3. Design any method, based on lecture 11, “Control of Power Flow”, of increasing the voltage on bus 2 by 2%. You can change either transformer to a tapping one or add series and/or shunting caps on any of the transmission lines. Part 3 is just a Powenvorld exercise. Make changes to the circuit shown in the figure then run the power flow program. Try different values and then run the program until you reach your goal. Your output of this case will be two Powerworld simulations, before and after showing the bus voltage increase.
